Claiming Calls for Content on Associated Content

Published by rusty at 4:21 am under make money online Edit This

At Associated Content, writers have the option of submitting articles on any subject they like or answering calls for content – specific requests on specified subjects. The list of calls for content, of C4C’s, is always available on the site. If you like a suggested topic, you can claim it by clicking the Claim button, which means that you promise to have it written and submitted by the said deadline.

I was under the impression that calls for content paid more. Well, it turns out that I was wrong. I checked out many of them today, and only two had upfront payment offers of $2.50 and $3.50. Others were pageview bonus only. AC claims that those topics are hot search items, so you are likely to get many pageviews and cash out on that. I suppose it is up to the writer whether to wager on that or not.

My wife used to write a lot for AC until they started decreasing the rate of pay for submitted articles - including photos. They used to pay $10-15 in the “old days.” I don’t know who is making thousands of dollars per year on their site, but they are probably writing about celebrities that they have connections with. The rest of the writers are lucky to make $3-5 per article any more.

Yes, it’s not what it used to be. I remember getting $8-9 per article, once I’d even hit $14. Not anymore.

Have you thought about writing for Bukisa, yet? It’s relatively new. If you decide to sign up, I would appreciate it if you would use my link, so that you can be in my network. So far, it looks like the earning potential is great!

    Thanks!

Ps. eHow has been treating me pretty well, too!

I’ve heard of Bukisa but have not checked it out yet. It is revenue share only? Have you earned any considerable money?

It’s not only AC that’s dropping money for writing. Look at how good survey companies dropped what they pay! Socratic Forum used to pay $10 a pop. Now it’s only $3.

On the flipside, some people write so badly…and I mean, BADLY that it’s a wonder they put anything on their sites from them at all. Blogs are a little different, but AC should keep their standards high. I’d love to know how EHow is paying. I don’t think I’ve made a dime from them, and I know they’ve published my articles.
